Hanuman Jayanti
Mythological Story
Hanuman Jayanti celebrates the birth of Lord Hanuman, the eleventh Rudra avatar of Lord Shiva, born to Mata Anjana and Kesari with the divine blessings of Vayu Dev (the Wind God) on Chaitra Purnima. Renowned for his boundless strength, supreme intellect, and unparalleled devotion to Lord Rama, Hanuman played a pivotal role in the Ramayana epic.
Spiritual Significance
Lord Hanuman is Sankatmochan—the dispeller of all sorrows and obstacles. Chanting Hanuman Chalisa and meditating on his divine form dispels fear, protects from negative energies, cures ailments, and instills unshakeable devotion and mental fortitude.
Puja Vidhi & Celebration
Devotees visit Hanuman temples at sunrise, offer saffron vermillion (Sindoor), jasmine oil (Chameli tel), betel leaves (Paan beeda), and boondi/laddu prasad. Continuous chanting of the Hanuman Chalisa, Sundarkand, and Bajrang Baan takes place throughout the day.
